Two

I often tell people that I only have two emotions: happiness and passion.  There is a big reason for this.  I think that everything in life is funny.  Look, I am not trying to offend anyone, but if I do, who cares?  You can’t tell me that everyone has offended someone at some point and time.  Got that?  Good.  At any rate, things are just funny.  The whole existence of the human race is almost a joke.  You know, if you think about it, this 100 year stretch is only a small portion of what is going to happen.  I think we should all realize that.  You see, the beauty of life is the essence of the fact that it can go away.  So, there are really only a few things to do: worship God and laugh.  If you can do those 2 things I think you’ve got it made.  Why would you ever want to dwell on the things that are sad.  Death is inevitable.  Take your time to grieve and let’s move on.  If you think about it, the death hopefully means that that person has gone home.  We are still stuck here until our work is done.  I always heard that you should cry when a baby is born and rejoice when a person dies.  I am assuming it’s because you are born into this hell and what awaits you is a life of toil and strife.  You will work most of your life, and have nothing but worries and troubles.  The good news is that you can leave them at the foot of the cross and still live life to the fullest extent.  God is good, you know?  In order to live life to the fullest extent, you need to laugh.  Do yourself a favor and watch Patch Adams.  He is played by Robin Williams.  In the movie, Dr. Adams tells his major professor that laughter creates a chemical reaction in the body that actually heals you and strengthens your immune system.  Make sure you are laughing and staying happy.  Remember this short saying, “and it came to pass.”  Man, everything comes and goes.  No matter how good or bad, it comes to pass.  Enjoy life.  Don’t hold grudges, hate people, or waste time being sad.  Just laugh.

Now what about passion?  I have a passion for my life and to live it.  I love to say funny things, act upon impulses, and dream about…dreams.  I have goals and try to obtain them.  If I like something, I really like it.  I have strong feelings and thoughts, and I am not afraid to let it be known.  I don’t think any one should.  Stand for something.  If a better and more persuasive argument comes along, open your mind and see if you believe it enough to adapt it to your lifestyle.  You have to immerse yourself in culture and other people.  When you truly listen to the world around you, you find out how enjoyable it can be.  As a matter of fact, most times it will make you laugh.  Now we’ve come full circle on the only two emotions that matter.  Be passionate about your life, and you will enjoy it.  The more you enjoy life, the more you will find yourself laughing.  Nobody wants to hear your stories of woe.  Hell, today I even tried showing compassion to a friend and she threw it back in my face.  It just reiterated the fact that no other emotions are accepted like these two.  People love to argue a point and get deep into conversation about things they are passionate about.  Anyone, guy or girl, loves to laugh.  A simple joke done in good taste will lift someone’s spirits.  I heard that if you get a girl to laugh, you can get her to do just about anything.  Ladies, guys would love for you to make him laugh.  It is hard to find a witty girl quite honestly.  So, make everyone laugh.  That’s just the way to do it.  If not, then talk about something that really gets you passionate.  That’s fun too.

Listen to me.  Clear your mind.  Cross your legs, close your eyes, plug your nose, and fart.  Now that your mind is cleared, come back and read the take home message.  Laugh and enjoy the world around you.  Wonder and be amazed.  If you can’t do this, then you need to re-evaluate your life and what is truly important.  Prioritize.  If this works for you, and you want to add some more emotions, go ahead.  But I think you will find this is about all you need.  God wants you to open your heart to Him, and when you do that, He will show you how you live your life to the fullest.  He wants you to live it to the max.  I think the best way to do that is laugh, enjoy some culture and the people around you, and remember to pray and worship.  All the rest is in the bag.
